What are the questions we've heard about the Black Hills and Sturgis.
I'm sure they are the same as yours. First and foremost we must mention that everybody wants to know about the rides. That's the first and most important question. Where do we ride? Black Hills Motorcycle RIDES covers seven major rides from the northern Black Hills to the Southern Hills, and ten side trips to neat out-of-the-way places we often frequent. The Devil's Tower ride and Badlands Ride is part of our itinerary, too. To top it off we compliment each story with detailed maps, unique and interesting Black Hills history and non-commercial recommendations for places to see, things to do, and entertainment we personally recommend.
The book is 183 pages, of rides, information and fun threaded with over 100 unique and descriptive photographs--all this wrapped up in a waterproof, colorful soft cover, with full color throughout the book.
There's something valuable and interesting at the turn of every page.
And you can be just as proud of it on your coffee table as you will be using it for your Black Hills RIDES. Our intention is for you to become the expert. We just take you on the first ride with us! We include major Black Hills maps and maps of each individual ride plus city maps of area towns and places including Sturgis and the actual rally areas.
This sure isn't a fly-by-night effort like you might see in other magazines and newspapers. This is a practical guide book designed to be used and shown off. It will look just as good on your bookshelf as in your hip pocket.
We answer questions and give our readers directions and links to everything from camping, bars, entertainment, favorite rides, food, biker friendly hangouts, to information about attractions, museums, emergency numbers, safety considerations, weather peculiarities and a direct contact both historically and from first person experience to eating, lodging, where to stop, historic sights, and fun in towns like Rapid City, Spearfish, Deadwood, Hulette, Sundance, Belle Fourche, Sturgis, Blackhawk, Piedmont, Hill City, Custer, Keystone, Hot Springs, Newcastle, Wall and just about everything in between, including the lakes, Pactola, Sheridan, Angustora, Robaix, Dalton, Center, Legion, Sylvan, Deerfield, and Canyon Lake. We ride the Canyons, straights and tell you about what to look for and what to watch out for to make your trip safe and satisfying. This book is not just about the Sturgis Rally, although we've dedicated a section to the world's biggest party and motorcycle rally, but about your whole journey--coming and going--to the Black Hills of South Dakota. It's billed as everything you'd want to know all under one cover--a physical hard copy souvenir and keepsake edition....all written by expert and trusted names in Black Hills Motorcycle riding.
Weather, safety, lodging, camping, maps, distances, places to see on your trip and back home again. BHMRIDES--The Book will answer your questions and save you time and money. What should you bring with you on your ride, gear, racing, hill climbs, Jackpine Gypsies, Pappy Hoyle, Sturgis Motorcycle Museum, airports, Sturgis 2010 happenings and entertainment venues, links and contacts to just about everything. It's all here. Mt. Whether you ride Bear Butte, Crazy Horse, Fort Meade, or off the road side trips like Hermosa, Silver City, Deerfield, Pringle, Rochford, Mystic, Nemo, Alladin or Alzada--we've been there, done that, bought the T-shirt, sold it and bought it again. Jam, Stoneville Saloon, Stonehouse Saloon, or something as simple as a roadside pull off where there is water and a restroom. We can steer you to the front row of a major headliner at a concert at the Rally or I can show you where you can park your bike in wagon wheel ruts made by Custer's 1874 Black Hills Expedition...from the Interstate Highway system getting you to the Black Hills, secondary state and US highways, country roads and forest service paved roads right down to a walking path at Jenny gulch so you can get the best photo opportunity. Our goal is to give you expert advice on motorcycle rides in the Black Hills which doesn't mean we won't tell you where to get the best burger, coldest beer or best steak, or where to get a prescription filled, medical attention, churches, and attractions....we do it all. It's been a labor of love and has involved a lot of people to make Black Hills Motorcycle RIDES: The Book a reality. Nobody pays us advertising because this is a non-advertising book. Your're getting recommendations based on past experience. Come take a ride with us....or several rides. We'll pass the experience baton to you and make you the expert for your friends and family. Black Hills Motorcycle RIDES: The Book makes you the expert!
